Penn State is in hot water after the allegedly allowing a coach to use their facilities to molest young boys. The news is in an uproar and students are protesting because of the backlash because of certain faculty members turned the other cheek. So far there are 8 victims from as far back as 1993. If you are a mother or a father you really should read the documents so you can at least know what questions to ask your child or what type of behaviors you need to tell your son/daughter to watch out for to prevent this from happening to your child.
According to documents:
Victim 1
His relationship ended shortly after he entered the 9th grade. It all began with him “grooming” Victim 1 by cracking his back before bed to blowing on his bare stomach. During this time Sandusky gifted the child with gifts, trips, and cash. When Victim 1 entered the 6th grade Sandusky began to kiss the victim on the mouth and perform oral sex on Victim 1 more than 20 times through 2007 -2009. Although Victim 1 knew that his contact with Sandusky was wrong it he did not tell anyone and his abuse continued. Sandusky would “play” wrestle the child at his high school to Sandusky laying on top of him face to face in a secluded area where the schools rock climbing wall was. There were numerous people who walked in on Victim 1 and Sandusky in awkward positions from the wrestling coach Joseph Miller, to Stephen Turchetta who called Sandusky “clingy” and “needy” after the boys would break of their relationship.
The mother reported the alleged abuse and Sandusky was barred from the school district attended by the student. He was in the 9th grade.
Victim 2
Penn State graduate assistant walked into the locker room to put some newly purchased sneakers in his locker room when he heard a “rhythmic slapping sound” that he believed was sexual activity. “As the graduate assistant entered the locker room he saw Sandusky performing anal intercourse on a Victim 2. Victim was fully nude with his hand against the wall. The student called his father who later went to Coach Paterno. The all agreed that it would be best to contact Tim Curley, Penn State Athletic Director and Paterno’s direct supervisor.
As a result, they took Sandusky’s keys to the locker room and they reported the incident to The Second Mile.
This incident occurred in 2002 and was never reported to officials.
During testimony Shultz testified that a similar incident was reviewed by University Police and “the child protection agency” back in 1998 regarding a similar situation where Sandusky was caught in the shower with another minor victim
Victim 3
Victim 3 was between the seventh and eighth grade and also attended The Second Mile Program. Victim 3 alleges that Sandusky would initiate physical contact in the showers, give him bear hugs, and wash his hair. When Victim 3 would spend the night Sandusky would inappropriately touch Victim 3
Victim 4
Victim 3 often hung with Victim 4, a boy who was repeatedly subjected to Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse at the hands of Sandusky. After the abuse Sandusky would purchase victim 4 gifts and opportunities to attend sporting events. The majority of Victim 4 assaults took place on Penn State University Park campus. This victim was also a participant in The Second Mile program in 1996/1997. Victim 4′s abuse ended when he turned 15
Victim 5
Victim 5 met Sandusky through The Second Mil program when he was 7-8 years old. He too was touched inappropriately in Penn State’s Showers
Victim 6
Victim 6 met Sandusky at a second mile picnic when he was 8 years old. After this meeting Sandusky picked him up to go to Penn State Campus. Victim 5 and other boys were present during this meeting. When he was 11 Sandusky began playing his usual games with Victim 6 which ended in the Shower. After the incident the boy went home with his mother who notified authorities about Sandusky taking a shower with her son. Victim 9, who they refer to in the report as B.K. was also there with Victim 6 and was also forced to take a shower with Sandusky.
Victim 7
Victim 7 entered the Second Mile program at the age of 10 in 1994 he was also a friend of Victim 9 and the other boys. Sandusky also made him take showers with him and also bear hugged the victim and cracked his back.
Victim 8
Victim 8 happened in 2000 when a janitor walked in on Sandusky performing oral sex on the boy. After telling the other janitors about what happened one came forward and stated that he too saw Sandusky on a different occasion exiting the showers with a young boy around the age of 11-13. The janitor Jim
Calhoun wept as he told the other janitor Petrosky what he had witnessed. He stated ” [he] fought in the [Korean] war… seen people with their guts blowed out, arms dismembered……..I just witnessed something there I’ll never forget” Both Janitors Petrosky and Jim identified Sandusky as the pervert to their manager Jim Calhoun but he never made a report
